In response to continuous pressure from certain
manufacturers to raise our firearm prices, we are actively seeking ways NOT to
raise our prices. Some manufacturers have started a Minimum Advertised Price
(MAP) policy for their products. If we, the retailer, are caught advertising for
less than these prices we are in jeopardy of being cut off by the manufacturers
and/or distributors. The MAP prices are normally considerably higher than our
normal selling price. The MAP prices reflect high profit margins required by
the "big chain" stores who operate with millions of dollars of overhead. The
"big chain" stores put pressure on the manufacturers and distributors to create
and enforce a MAP policy which will support their excessive overhead. They can
apply this pressure, because they amount to huge, multi-million dollar accounts
with each manufacturer or distributor.
In order to get our advertised prices in compliance with certain MAP policies,
you may notice us listing the prices as POR (price on request). On our auctions
we may list the sale with a reserve price. This is not an attempt to be coy or
deceitful, or hide the price from our customers, but simply to comply with the
manufacturers rules of advertised prices. We won't try to bait you by offering
different "promotions" like special financing terms, points, free shipping, free goods
(knives, etc.) or other "free" stuff as other dealers do. Nothing is free
and we don't think our customers are dumb. We never bait you in with a cash
price then tack on 3% or more if you want to use your credit card either.
We are in the process of reviewing
the numerous MAP policies in an attempt to come up with a solution that will
address all MAP restrictions.
You can be sure that we are doing everything we can to keep our prices down. You
can contact us any time to get our current price on any item.
Your business is greatly appreciated. |
